Over
the years we have worked hard to acquire and retain our reputation
for high quality, friendly and personal service. It is a source
of real pleasure that so many of our customers learn about
us through word of mouth and personal recommendations. We have
received visitors from a range of countries including Britain,
Canada, Germany, Poland, South Africa and the United States
and have been invited to work with organisations like the National
Trust and the College of St Mark and St John in Plymouth.
We
also organise courses for Elderhostel, the world's largest
provider of educational travel for adults over 55, whose other
British partners include such prestigious organisations as
Christ Church College, Oxford and Churchill College, Cambridge.
Andrew Thompson was one of just three British based guide-lecturers
to receive Elderhostel's Year of the Instructor award when
they celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2005.

We
are based in the attractive market town of Tavistock in rural
West Devon. Tavistock is the perfect centre from which to explore
Devon and Cornwall - a town steeped in history, on the western
edge of the Dartmoor National Park, close to the Tamar Valley
and maritime Plymouth and with dramatic coastlines and the
cathedral city of Exeter just short scenic journeys away.
Sir
Francis Drake's birthplace, site of a medieval abbey whose
remains were incorporated into the picturesque Victorian town
centre and gateway to the Cornwall and West Devon mining landscapes
World Heritage Site, Tavistock has been voted England's Best
Market Town by readers of Country Life Magazine.
|

|
|
There
is a good choice of accommodation in the town and surrounding
countryside, from award winning bed and breakfasts to luxury
hotels, and the outstanding cuisine in local shops, pubs and
restaurants led to Tavistock winning the title Best Food Town
in South West England 2006.
